When's the last time you felt like you did something that made you healthier?
I don't mean skinnier.
I mean healthier. Like, healthy for your body but also for your mind and your spirit.

If I could just lose 10 pounds, I'll be happy.

These thoughts are really dangerous. I'll tell you why:
Even you achieve one or all of these things, it's likely you still won't be happy/relaxed/content/less moody/better.
The issue doesn't end with meeting your goal. The issue ends when you stop obsessing over what you don't have and when you focus on building health instead of restricting, punishing, or wishing yourself into a different person.
Consider this your encouragement and permission to relax.
Your period, sleep, mood, gut, and hormones need a balanced brain at the forefront of good function. Your body needs to you relax. Your husband and kids and coworkers and mom need you to relax. Stop thinking that health perfection will make you happy because it does not exist.
Even those of us who are in this space for a profession don't have perfect health. We wander the road, just like you, trying this and that and the other before we come to the stunning realization that health truly is a journey and not a destination. Enjoy the process.
